Nuwara Eliya is a town blessed with salubrious climes. Lover's Leap is something which adds the finishing touches to such a wonderful town ( called also a Little England ) that a trip to Nuwara Eliya is not complete without a visit to these falls.Turning to Lady MacLand's Drive at Hawa Eliya along the road to Kandapola and then following the road sign at a junction up to a place from which there is a footpath among tea shrubs to the foot of upper falls ( lower falls could also be visited but possibly with the permission from the Beer company - said to be the oldest in Sri lanka, who uses the water from the falls ),one can come right down to the foot of this fall . The surrounding scenery is panoramic, the town seen like a far away place keeping its business for itself and leaving us alone in our paradise.
But for how long I dare ask ? As they have gone to Bopath Ella (also in this waterfalls list), Hummanaya (Blow Hole along Southern coast ) and so many other places where nature is in abundance, and turned them into places where devastation is in abundance with so much of this and that of town's life being brought to the surroundings of those places, this waterfall too may be threatened someday in the sameway if human beings start their exploration and invasion in a greater scale.
This beautiful waterfall can be seen from the rail road between Badulla ( end of Up Country rail road ) and Haputale . Not sure how they call the falls.
