Hmm . . . I wonder if Karu is related to us? Are these people who are really running for president? When i sthe next election?
Also - I just looked up a website that lists all the chairs in the SL government and the people who fill them. I noticed that there is not one woman (other than Chandrika) in a lead chair position. Did I miss something? Where are the women?

[flash=200,200][/flashe I've always said that in politics, your enemies can't hurt you, but your friends will kill you. A politician should have three hats. One for throwing into the ring, one for talking through, and one for pulling rabbits out of if elected. To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right. Thanks for the better understanding

According to this poll Mahinda will become president. He has not even been able to produce a manifesto; instead we have his "thoughts". He has not been able to tell us how he will develop the country. Inflation is now at 18% and will go up. The economy will gradually deteriorate. The future for our children is bleak.

Hi Damien, well yes i'm back after a break... Your list of candidates are a bit short... Shall I add the rest of the names to the poll?... And one more thing ... Anura Bandaranaiyake is not a candidate.

Live once, to the fullest... that's long enough

After a long time abroad... I've finally settled in Sri Lanka. Settling down in my home country has been more of a trial than I expected. Being used to living in a different countries and longing to be in Sri Lanka has always been in my head... and when it has actually turned out to be... its a different story. The feeling that your on home ground is there.... but neither the safety nor esteem of being a proud citizen barely manages to kindle you. Well perhaps it only me... but I do see other ppl also worrying.. just like me... for me its new, and its a blisterring headache.... for them its just plain old routine life... So are ppl excited about the upcoming elections... Basically, no one will miss the Elections day... But who to vote is indeed a question... 13 Candidates... of which 11 whom we barely know of. Will their election promises be delivered? Or is it in tradition to send those promises up in smoke? Life in Sri Lanka has been labelled as it is now, solely by the ppl who live in it. Everybody is in search of a quick way to gain.... from politicians to road side vendors. Ppl lacking morals seem to rule at all the high chairs, (otherwise unattainable).. SO do we have to choose a politician to lead us? Perhaps we will not listen to him... unless he's profitable to us. SO WHAT'S THE USE? No quick gain.. no pain.. is what rules the heart of our ppl, sadly. Striving for better is just a myth............
